A strange assortment of individuals collide in the Russian Arctic at the height of the revolution and World War One, in the second feature from cult director Guy Maddin, newly restored in 4K.

With striking black and white cinematography and stylized set design, revolutionary and highly acclaimed director Guy Maddin (currently working on a new feature with Cate Blanchett and Alicia Vikander, with his regular collaborators Evan and Galen Johnson) tells a tale of obsessive love in the arctic Russian town of Archangel, where Bolsheviks, White Russians and German Huns converge during World War I.
